Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 29 July 2026
Introduction
Perceptron AS ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data when you use ZenTransfer.
Information We Collect
Personal Data: Email address, name, and payment information when you register or make a purchase.
Usage Data: Information about how you use ZenTransfer, including system logs for diagnostic purposes.
Content Data: Any content you create on or upload to ZenTransfer.
Billing Records: Transactional records for payments and refunds.
How We Use Your Information
Provide Services: To operate and maintain ZenTransfer.
Improve Services: To understand how the service performs and make improvements.
Communication: To send you transactional emails related to your use of the service and occasional marketing emails (from which you can unsubscribe).
Legal Obligations: To comply with legal requirements and enforce our terms.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your data with:
Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist in providing our services, such as payment processors and infrastructure providers.
Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights.
Data Security
We implement robust security measures to protect your data:
Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit and at rest when using the ZenTransfer website. When transferring files with FTP the content is transferred unencrypted over the internet and intermediaries can read the content. Do not use unencrypted FTP for sensitive or confidential data.
Access Controls: ZenTransfer employees do not access Content Data. The system is designed to prevent employee access, and operational procedures and technical controls prohibit such actions.
Data Centers: Personal Data, Usage Data, and Billing Records are stored in our data centers located in the European Union and the United States. We use global redundancy to ensure reliable and efficient service performance. For transfers to the United States, we rely on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Content Data is stored in one of our worldwide data center regions. When you connect to our service we automatically route traffic and uploads to the closest/fastest location. This means that your upload endpoint will change if you travel physically or use a VPN.
System Logs: System logs are used solely for diagnostic purposes. System logs are stored on our endpoints and in data centers in the European Union.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We continuously update and monitor our security practices to enhance the protection of your data.
Data Retention
Personal Data: Personal data and content are retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You can delete your account at any time through the User Profile page.
Content Data: ZenTransfer will temporarily keep your content on our servers until the workflow has succeeded, after which the content will be permanently deleted unless you configure longer-term or infinite storage in your account.
Billing Records: We keep billing records for the duration required by Norwegian law.
System Logs: We retain system logs for a maximum of 30 days for diagnostic purposes.
Emails You Receive From ZenTransfer
You may receive email from ZenTransfer because one of our account holders used the service to share files or a gallery with you, or to notify you about a transfer. The account holder chose to email you and controls their own list of recipients. You do not need a ZenTransfer account to manage or stop this contact — every such email includes the links below.
Unsubscribe: The Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email — and the native unsubscribe button your email client may show — stops that sender from emailing you through ZenTransfer. This takes effect immediately.
Resubscribe: If you unsubscribe by mistake, the confirmation page shown after you unsubscribe offers a one-click option to resubscribe to that sender.
Block all email and report abuse: The Report abuse link lets you report email you did not want to receive. From there you can also choose to stop all further notification email to your address, not just from a single sender. Reporting abuse is also recorded against the sender and can lead to their loss of access to our email features.
Manage all your notifications: You can sign in to the notification portal at zentransfer.io/manage-notifications using your email address, with no ZenTransfer account required. From there you can review every sender emailing you, unsubscribe from individual senders, resubscribe, or turn off all notification email to your address in one place.
If a link does not resolve your issue, contact us at hello@perceptron.no and we will help you stop the email.
Text Messages (SMS) You Receive From ZenTransfer
You may receive text messages (SMS) from ZenTransfer because a ZenTransfer account holder added your phone number so they could notify you when they share new files with you. As with email, the account holder chose to contact you and controls their own list of recipients. We process your phone number only to deliver and manage these notifications. You do not need a ZenTransfer account to manage or stop these texts.
Opt-in — your consent is required first: Before we send you any file notifications, we text you a single one-time message asking you to confirm. You will only receive further texts if you tap the link in that message and accept. If you simply ignore it, nothing further is ever sent. You may decline, and you can change your mind and accept later from the same link.
Stop these texts: Every notification text includes a Stop link. Opening it lets you unsubscribe from that sender immediately. Where your carrier supports it, you can also reply STOP to stop the messages.
Choose how often you hear from us: From that same Stop page you can set your delivery frequency — instant, batched, or a periodic digest.
Block all texts: From the same page you can block all ZenTransfer text messages from every sender, not just one. You can unblock yourself again later.
Manage all your text messages: You can sign in to the SMS management portal at zentransfer.io/manage-sms using your phone number and a one-time code we text you — no ZenTransfer account required. From there you can review every sender texting you, turn individual notifications on or off, resubscribe to a sender you muted, set your delivery frequency, or block all texts in one place.
Country availability: We are only able to send SMS to phone numbers in the countries we currently support; your number is checked for eligibility when it is added.
Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. If a link does not resolve your issue, contact us at hello@perceptron.no and we will help you stop the messages.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
Access: Request access to your personal data.
Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure: Request deletion of your data.
Restriction: Request restriction of processing your data.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use only strictly necessary cookies for authentication, session management, and logging to help us provide a reliable service. Our log data do not contain any personally identifiable information. We store a fingerprint of your ip-address and browser to help us identify and prevent abuse and enforce usage limits.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than Norway. We ensure adequate protection is in place for such transfers. Data is stored at-rest in the United States, France, or Singapore.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for individuals under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, just as we do not track or collect data from any of our users.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
